Federal Ashwas Financial Literacy & Counselling Centre is sponsored by Federal Bank’s Financial Inclusion Dept., Head Office, Marine Drive, Cochin under the strict control and guidance of The Reserve Bank of India and Trivandrum District Lead Bank(IOB). This Centre enables general public and bank customers in the day to day transactions and make them literate in banking activities. It promotes Saving Mentality, Safe banking and Responsible Borrowings. Financial Literacy Counsellors are giving customers/borrowers Pre Credit & Post Credit counselling to make them aware of NPA, CIBIL Score and credit rating.
Financial Literacy & Counselling Centers are functioning in each and every Revenue Blocks as RBI insist every banks to provide and sponsor such Centers under Financial Inclusion Departments, which promotes Micro and Rural Banking Services.
Federal Ashwas, Kattakada, is under Vellanad Block and Sri. Mathew Isac, FLC Counsellor, retired from Federal Bank after a prolonged service of more than 38 years. Counsellors are attending Block Level Bankers Committee (BLBC) meetings and District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meetings arranged by RBI and District Lead Banks to get updated knowledge in addition to RBI training as well as sponsoring bank’s training programs.
FLC centers provide general public, awareness about various Govt. Schemes, Insurance and Social Security Schemes like PMJJBY & PMSBY and conducting its Saturation Campaigns promoted by RBI. FLC counsellors are acting as liaison officers to connect general public with various banks, govt. departments, NABARD, Industries Dept. Employment Exchanges and invite all categories of of public to utilize these free services through FLC centers.
